Usa Metal Cores Metal Roofs In The Southern USA?

Metal roofs in the southern USA? - usa metal cores

I returned home in the heart of the North, the holiday in Virginia and North Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky. I was surprised to see so many metal roofs! I like how they look, but only seen in very old houses here in the north. What is the advantage of metal roofs for households in the South? Why are so popular, even in new houses? Thank you in advance for any response you may have!

Last forever! Several of my uncles was a tin roof. One complained that he was high maintenance costs - you have to paint, if all 25 years! It is the home for almost 80 years without any problems and will probably last forever if it was painted once every 25 years.

A copper roof requires no maintenance, but it is expensive to begin with.

Some people like the sound of rain on the tin roof. It is somewhat higher than in the composition of a tile. Sleet or hail can be noisy. But I love to visit their homeland, when it rains. The sound of rain on the roof to go to bed soon.
